What is love? What a cliche question...

Hello again and welcome to the second post in my mini series of posts called "Drafts and Past Thoughts" in which I am posting some past drafts, that never made it to my blog. To try and date when this post was written I would say around February 2016. I hope this may help anyone in some way and most of all I hope you enjoy! - leelou

As a young child we all dream of a life that we think we're all destined to have; to find the person of our dreams, marry them and have a beautiful family. We build these dreams up in our heads. We imagine these families, two girls maybe, or maybe four boys; you still haven't figured out the details. All that matters is that you found the person of your dreams and you know life couldn't be better; you find your whole. As a young children believe this will happen to each and everyone of us, but as we get older we began to see that not everyone is so lucky.

I have come to a point in my life where I've hit an end, as I begin to look around at people and realize how many don't ever get married and don't ever have a family. I know this isn't the main goal in life, because having an amazing job or traveling are an equally rewarding things do with your life, but having someone to share these memories with is important too. I'm not a hopeless romantic and I don't believe in love in first sight, and fears have got the best of me.

I've learned so much about myself over the past 2 years of college and I know I can face things on my own, but the scary part is never getting to share these feelings with someone I truly trust.

I've started to consider the fact that not I might not ever find someone to be with, or to have a family with and that is an extremely scary fact. At this point in my life I fear for never finding anyone.

I fear of never truly feeling love.

I fear of settling.

I fear if finding the perfect person is not possible for me.

I fear that I am not capable of love.

I fear that will never feel romantic feelings towards another person.

I fear that I will never be loved by another person.

I fear I will never have a family of my own.

I fear to go through life without know what love is.

The constant eternal question..."what is love?" I hope one day I'll know.

Pondering thoughts late at Night

Hello all! This is the first in my mini series of posts called "Drafts and Past Thoughts" in which I am posting some past drafts, that never made it to my blog. To try and date when this post was written I would say around November 2015. I hope this may help anyone in some way and most of all I hope you enjoy! - leelou

Recently I've been wondering about what people are actually thinking when they see someone they think is attractive. I've been reading up a lot about Primary and Secondary attraction and I still can't seem to wrap my head around it all. According to the numerous sites primary attraction is when a person finds another person attractive essentially based on first impressions and physical features, such as their look and even smell. Secondary attraction is the attraction developed over time based on a relationship you have with the person, based more on an emotional connection through personality and shared experiences.

What I can't get is Primary attraction. I can see someone has nice features but I can't see the sexual attraction to someone you don't know. I honestly wonder when girls awe over Channing Tatum. I wonder if they are experiencing primary attraction towards him or are they only agreeing in the fear to be the only one not going gaga over him. I can see how girls see him as attractive, as he is portrayed as a "manly man" but I don't feel anything for him when I look at him. I can also appreciate the good looks of someone like James Franco, but I don't think I feel anything on the terms of primary attraction. I yearn more to be his friend because I enjoy his personality and humour and I think we would really just hit it off.

The struggle I've been finding myself in, is: How do you know what Primary Sexual attraction feels like and if you are feeling it.

I feel like I may never of even had a crush on someone in the terms of primary attraction. I can see good features and what is pleasing to the eye, but that's about it.

I feel like I'm more attracted to someone because of their personality, but even then I feel no need to push that relationship further than friends. I enjoy them as a person and I'd prefer to have interesting conversations.

I'm just curious what people feel when they see a shirtless picture of a guy, again lets use Channing Tatum as the example. Do you feel anything from that? Because all I see is a photo, and one that I don't even care for. I have no yearning to save it as my desktop photo or phone background... I'm just confused by this whole fascination... Do people really feel things for people they don't know and for celebrities they don't know?

I still can't figure it out and when shown a shirtless photo or a photo of a guy my friend is dating I can never come up with an appropriate response other than "oh, nice" and nodding. The problem I have is that I never been a person to use the word "hot." I've never said a guy is "hot" and I'm not sure why.

Drafts on Drafts on Drafts

I recently rediscovered my password to this blog (I've been locked out forever!) and was welcomed by a stash of drafts that I am going to post over the next few days. It was quite a journey taking a quick look back on them. It was interesting to see all these thoughts and ideas I was internally struggling with at different points in the past year, which I came here to vent them out. They're an interesting look at self discovery and self doubt, and although they are quite personal I feel like sharing them might just help someone else. I know it would help me to know someone else is struggling in the same ways as me, and so this has pushed me to posting them. However during reading over these old posts, I hit the "save" button. So I can no longer give an exact time stamp to these posts, which is a bit of a bummer....but without further adieu, I hope you enjoy this mini series of "Drafts and Past Thoughts."

Sad 'lil Halloween. Sew Spoopy. Sew Scary.

Today marks another Halloween. Exactly 7:33pm on October 31st, 2015 and I'm here writing. Writing this blog post. I like Halloween, and but I find myself now at 7:35pm with nowhere to go. Living in residence on my college campus there should be no excuses for me not to go out, there's probably tons of places to hit up some Halloween festivities, but still I'm here. I'm not a big party person, and I'm horrible with large groups of drunk people that I don't know. The bottom line is I'm horrible at parties, I can't do them. A few months back I watched the movie "The Zero Theorem" and this particular quote has stuck with me, "We fear parties. We never know quite where to stand." This odd little quote perfectly sums up how I feel at parties. I also never know where to put my hands. Hands are weird. Should I put them in my pockets, crossed them or just let them hang dead to my side? I don't know! I really don't know.A drink in your hand does help with this problem.

So today, on Halloween, I have decided to be a sad lil Halloween kid and have a sad lil Halloween by myself.

Maybe I'll even celebrate with a non-horror movie (I can't do horror movies by myself.)

Hope everyone else is having the most lovely Halloween. Celebrate in any way that seems right, even if it is just watching a movie alone, cause hey, that's what I'm doing!

Things you thought would happen as Teen

The other day someone asked me how old I was, and it always takes me a moment to remember and then swiftly answer "19." (For some reason I can never seem to remember how old I am, and then my birthday is back around and I need to remember a new number. The struggle!!)

Later that day my mom said to me "you're almost 20, and you will no longer be a teenager," which came to me as a bit of a shock. Although I could have easily realized this myself, it really hadn't crossed my mind. While I was trying to fall asleep that night the thought slipped back into my mind, as these things normally do. I continued to ponder on that one line my mom had said and I began to realize how many teenager-esc things I seemed to have missed out on. Although these are not life threatening and things could obviously be much worse, but it still sort of sucks.

I did however go to prom, but I was too scared to ask anyone and everyone I talked to was shocked I was even going (which I don't blame as the reason no one asked me, but still no one asked me, which in a way was a relief.) I have been to at least one high school party and have been once specifically invited to a party by someone (which is very rare for me), instead of just being dragged along by a friend, so I haven't missed out on everything. I seemed to have hit the major teenager-esc things off the list. Although I've been to parties I've never actually been drunk (I take too long to drink anything and then I get bored. I've been told shots would be better for me? Maybe? I haven't tried yet...) I've also never had a boyfriend or been on a date what-so-ever. I know for a fact these things are not uncommon for many, there's tons of girls and guys that haven't gone on a date that are going into their early 20s so it doesn't really bother me, it will happen when it happens and right now I'm happy.

To be honest I don't feel the need to rush and ask someone out just so I can say I went on a date before I'm 20. As things like this don't really matter in the big picture of things, they happen when they happen. There is no one way to live your life, so if you're like me and still haven't went on a date or missed some other teenage-esc experience that you expected to happen, don't feel like you're missing out, don't worry about it, it will happen when it should. Just know you're not the only one, you never are.

Abandoned Mustang Drive-In

Not far from where I live is an abandoned Drive-In, the Mustang Drive-In. About a month ago I finally made the trip out to see the Drive-In for myself after having seen a few Facebook albums posted by my friends. I was pretty excited about visiting the Drive-In and I felt pretty hardcore for going to an abandoned building. However, upon arriving I found out how trashed this little piece of history had become. In the photos my friends had taken it looked perfectly untouched and now trash was thrown about, vulgar words were scribbled onto the walls and windows were smashed which left it a little tricky to make my way around without slicing through a shoe. Although the Mustang Drive-In wasn't as beautiful and untouched as I hoped it to be, I was still able to snap a few great shots. I can't deny how much better it would have been seeing it untouched, but it was still quite the adventure and I did have fun, and that's what really counts in the end, right?

Below is some of the images I took while visiting. Enjoy!

☀ Best Movies I've seen this Summer ☀

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to movies. What exactly do I mean by "nerd" you ask? Well, before I continue with this post I'll try to give you better idea. For example: If we were ever to bump into each other in a public place (*insert your favourite place to dine*) or simply out in the streets (*insert the town you currently reside in*) and we happen to get into a conversation about movies, well you might not hear end of it. As I get excited about my favourites and recount all my favourite scenes, lines and actors I probably won't notice that you silently crept away a good 10 minutes ago. I'd probably still be laughing at all those great one liners I just said to myself, hoping for a little giggle from you, but you've already left (how rude!) No worries I don't hold a grudge, you were nice enough to endure I few minutes of that.

Movies are a big part of my life and if you were to tell me you don't enjoy movies, you might have to repeat yourself twice. I can honestly say I spend a great deal of time watching movies, sometimes purposely bad movies (and by bad I just mean bad acting, bad storyline, that kind of thing. wait what were you thinking?!) but most of the time I enjoy searching for critically acclaimed films, independent films, festival nominated/winning films, good ol'classics or something just out of the ordinary.

My favourite thing about finding a good movie is that feeling you get, the feeling of being sucked right in, you feel like you're right there with all the characters living it out, where emotions run high and the thrill of watching is off the charts. When a movie is like this I know it's going to be an instant classic in my books.

So to get on with the show, as the say in the film (does anyone actually say that in film?) let's get on with this post.

As follows is a list of the best movies I've watched this summer, some just hit theatres and some have been out for a number of years, but all of them I have watched over the past few months. They were definitely hard to rank (#1 being my very favourite, #10 the least, but still so much a favourite♥) because I truly love all the movies I included in this list. So as follows...

MY TOP 10 MOVIES I'VE SEEN THIS SUMMER

**Note I linked trailers of all the movies to their titles! Enjoy**

Playlist #1: Songs To Fill Your Little Heart With Joy

Music and songs give off certain feelings. Lately I find myself collecting songs that give me the same type of feeling. I like taking these songs and compiling them into a list so when I feel like getting into a certain mood or want to put a little soundtrack to my current mood, I can. This is essentially how playlists are put together anyway, so it's not like I found out some secret, but I maybe just found the knack in being able to do it, or at least I think so.

This playlist is officially the 1st playlist I have created myself without the help of my iPod and that handy little Genius playlist button. All the songs are ones that I have found/heard/forgot I knew and then found again over the past month or so, so it has been a work in progress.

The feeling of this playlist is songs that are relaxing, soft, fun, joyful and just make me smile, which I think is summed up pretty well in the title (Songs To Fill Your Little Heart With Joy.)

I have listed the songs in the order I feel like they fit best but by all means switch it up! I hope you enjoy my little playlist I created.

• Us → Regina Specktor
• New Soul → Yael Naim
• All I Want → Kodaline
• The Way I Am → Ingrid Michealson
• Sun Shy → Dressses
• Love Song → Sara Bareilles
• Fool for Love → Lord Huron
• Skinny Genes → Eliza Doolittle
• The Show → Lenka

Update on Spidey

So if you're anything like me you probably have already heard the news about the casting for the new Spiderman movie, which was announced a few weeks ago and to everyone's dismay (including myself) Tom Holland was chosen. Not that I have anything against Holland himself, I'm just disappointed that he was chosen to play Peter Parker/Spiderman, meaning no Miles Morales/Spiderman story. Holland who is 19 years old seems to give an idea on how the franchise may be going, as it seems that this time around it will be starting at the beginning of Peter's High School experience. One of my biggest issues I have with this decision is the fact that Miles Morales was announced to be the official new Spiderman mere weeks before. Another issue I have with the continuation of the Peter Parker story is that everyone already knows it, and as I said before in my last Spiderman post I'm really not interested in seeing the same story for a third time! To be honest I feel like the movie is going to be geared towards a younger audience, seeing as Holland is 19 and each time they do a reboot of the Spiderman movies the Peter they chose gets younger. The story of Peter Parker is also not as relevant as it was when it was originally written. The character of Peter Parker was suppose to be an outcast, a nerd, a loser and a bit of a loner. However people with the "Peter Parker" nerd esthetic are no longer outcasts or losers, they are the guys the girls want to date, instead of looking the other way. I just feel that these guys are now the cool guys, and it's just not how it use to be when the story was created. Therefore, now would be the perfect opportunity for a change, it's time for Miles Morales.

Future

Recently I have been putting some thought into what I really want my blog to be about and why I started it in the first place. I've realized that along the way of starting it a got a bit confused. Blogs are suppose to be an extension of yourself, a place where you can share your inner thoughts, and place where you can just be creative. I started this blog because I wanted to be creative, and try writing about things I care about. I know I'm not the best writer but I took a creative writing course in my final year of high-school and I loved it. I was inspired to continue this new found passion, by creating this blog. I quickly found a ton of bloggers that I loved everything about and I wanted to do what they did. Looking back on early posts I think I drew too much on others esthetics or what they wrote about. It didn't feel like it was me. I did posts that have probably been done a few hundred times (Example A, Example B) and it didn't feel new, it just felt boring. Come to think of it more than half of my posts are not me. Although I don't like most of these posts and I'm definitely not proud of them, I will keep them posted, as they will be a good reminder to do what I want and not what I think people expect from a blog. I hope that in the future, that the reason anyone may choose to read my blog is because it's different and entertaining not because it's like everyone else.

And so here it begins...

Again.

Thoughts on Spiderman

Lately there has been a lot of talk about Spiderman, a topic that I myself am quite fond of. A few months back there was talk about ending the Spiderman movie reboot with Andrew Garfield and taking it in the direction with alternate universe Miles Morales who appears in the monthly series "Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man" and first appeared in Ultimate Fallout #4 in August 2011 following the death of Peter Parker (No worries in other universes Peter Parker is alive and well.) Miles Morales is of African American and Latin descent, drawing on inspiration from U.S President Barack Obama and American actor Donald Glover. Back in 2010 Donald Glove became the online face of Miles Morales after fans saw him wearing a Spiderman costume on TV and began tweeting "#donald4spiderman." At first when I heard about all of this, I thought it would be hard to imagine seeing anyone else other than Peter Parker as Spiderman, but I think that if a third reboot were to happen Miles Morales could bring something new and exciting that the franchise hasn't had before. Plus, who really wants to see the origin story of Peter Parker Spiderman any way? We all know that story. I'm pretty interested in seeing the story of Miles Morales, something we haven't seen before. The whole point of Spiderman is to imagine him any way you want, so why not have a Spiderman that is not a nerdy caucasian male. Although this new direction sounds promising, I have also read some snippets about starting Spiderman again but with another nerdy caucasian male and significantly younger than Andrew Garfield (Example A, Example B.) When I read this I was pretty mad and to be honest I hope it's not true. I don't see the point in starting all over again with a new Peter Park/Spiderman to essentially tell the exact same story for a third time! If Andrew Garfield is no longer going to be the face of Spiderman then why not take it a new direction. To be honest I would be pretty mad to see another nerdy caucasian male Spiderman when the choice is there to have Miles Morales. I say either continue with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spiderman or start something new with Miles Morales/Spiderman!

First year donee!

I recently finished my first year of college for Graphic Design and I'm thrilled to have a long four months to take a break before getting back to school life. However having a break has not been as awesome as I've hoped. For the past few weeks all I've done is sit around and watch movies or youtube, and as relaxing as that sounds it gets pretty boring after a few days. I feel like I am lost without homework or assignments to be worrying about. Hopefully things will turn around soon and I can find something a little more productive to do.

Last Minute D.I.Y Christmas Gift Ideas

I am a bit of a D.I.Y fanatic myself, and I'm constantly on Pinterest finding new and fun ways to make something old into something new. I take awhile to get around to making a lot of the things I pin, but I will hopefully get around to making a few. Since Christmas is nearing, I decided to compile a list of my top 10 last minute D.I.Y ideas to make and give for Christmas (in no particular order.)

Super cute and very quick to make! All you need is a pine cone, some ribbon and some string!

Get some cotton balls, a little plastic tree or even a branch from outside and add a cute animal or a little present.

Add anything you would like, nail polish, cream, candy! Make it fun.

Get an old mug, and paint on some chalk paint! (maybe write a cute Christmas message)

Cute for your glitter lovin' friend.

Takes a little more time, but a super cute idea.

Make these sweet little guys in a quick few minutes.

Warning! This one will probably be pretty tricky if you're following the link I posted above. This one is a bought version.

All you need is a gold sharpie and a plain journal!

These will take by far the longest, but you will end up with a beautiful gift for someone!

I hope you enjoyed reading my list. Let me know what your favourite is or if you're making one of these for someone special to you.

Flower Crown Attempt #1

The fact that it is almost Christmas and there is already snow on the ground has not stopped me in attempting to create my very first flower crown, as I see it, if I start now I will be able to perfect my flower crown making abilities by the summer time.

I'll take you through my process of how I created my flower crown, however I am not saying this is the right way to do it or the only way to do it, it's just how I figured out how to do it. So as follows...

How to make a Flower Crown:

First off, you will need to get all your materials together.
You will need:
-Plastic flowers
-Florist wire
-Florist tape
-Scissors
-Glue gun + glue sticks

Next, take 2 or 3 flowers and cut their ends to make them approx. 2 inches long. Then wrapped the flowers together with florist tape. Add a dab of glue to the last bit of the florist tape that you wrapped around to help it stay in place. At the bottom of your mini flower bunch, you can put another dab of hot glue to help to reinforce it from falling apart.

Next I take your florist wire and wrap it around your head approx. 3 times, to make sure it will fit  when I was done. Then twist the wire around itself to create a circle, like the one bellow.

Next, you will begin to attach your mini flower bunches to your crown. Do this by wrapping a flower bunch to the crown with the florist tape. Continue to make more flower bunches and attach them until you have cover the whole front of your crown, as seen below.

Lastly, I cover the wire on the back of your crown by wrapping a piece of white ribbon around.
Your final product should look a little like this:

**Sorry for the lack of photos.

Let me know if you used my mini tutorial l to help you create a flower crown and if you've made a flower crown using another tutorial I would still love to see!

Short Story Inspired by "Palo Alto"

During the summer I read James Franco's book "Palo Alto,"  a collection of stories inspired by his youth of living in Palo Alto, California. The book was also adapted into a film directed by Gia Coppola, and Franco played one the characters he created in his novel. After reading all his stories, I was inspired to take a crack at writing my own "Franco style" story. So as follows, here is my short story:

Face the Facts

My life started spiraling out of control when John, Stewart, Frank and I were invited to April Sutter's house for her annual party bash.

April is the most popular girl at our high school. Everyone is always invited to her parties, but we all know the unwritten rule, that not everyone is welcome. Every year her parents go away on the same weekend to Las Vegas (they have a bit of a gambling problem) and so they leave April in charge of their tiny wiener dog Charles and their big beautiful home located on the outskirts of town. This year however, in hopes to mark my final year in high school I was going to get into that party, no matter the costs.

In my cold, damp and unfinished basement, that had recently become my bedroom for the past 2 years, and still piled with unpacked boxes, sat John, Stewart, Frank and myself. We had all sat down for a relaxing night of drinking the beer that John had stolen from his dad's backyard work shop.

“Guys you know what tonight is, right?”

“Awe come on Dan, don't start with this again.” Stewart said with a bit of a slur from guzzling down most of the beer that John had brought over.

John leaned over and smacked Stewart as he leaned in trying to reach for another beer.

“Come on, you guys aren't even listening. DO YOU KNOW WHAT NIGHT IT IS?”

Stewart and Frank both looked up. John kept his attention on Stewart as he tried to keep him away from the dying stock that consisted of only 2 beers.

“Tonight is April Sutter's party.”

“Dan we knowwwww.” John finally took his eyes of Stewart who was in the works of stealing his stolen beer. John no longer had a face of anger but a face of annoyance from having been reminded that such party was going on as they all sat on the brown carpeted floor.

“Well tonight boys, tonight were going.”

“And how do you think that's ever going to happen Dan?” Frank asked in an angry tone “We're losers...and just because we're invited doesn't mean we're welcome anywhere near that house.” As Frank said invited he formed his fingers into small quotations to enforce, what we already all knew and felt, but for some reason that night I just didn't seem to care or notice. I guess I thought we could do anything.

“Well Frank” I said “We are going to do exactly this...” John and Frank leaned in as I began to explain my plan. Stewart looked off, his eyes landing on a corner of my room where my few accomplishments in the form of a small selection of trophies I had won for math sat on a neat black shelf. Stewart lost his gaze on the trophies and leaned in almost falling face first into a crumpled chip bag in the middle of us.

“Stewart.” I snapped my fingers in front of his face. “Stewart? Hey man, can you hear me?”

Stewart looked up from his locked gaze on the crumpled chip bag on the floor.

I started again. “Hey Stewart.” This time he replied with a “Yes” and I knew I had his attention.

“Stewart, do you think you're well enough to drive? We're going to April's.”

John turned to me and looked me dead in the eye. “What are you thinking Dan. Now you're just being stupid.”

“I'm not being stupid, he's the only one that can drive out of the four of us”

“Do you honestly think he can drive right now” I was about to answer, but John continued “Give me your keys Stewart.” John put his hand out to a crumpled Stewart that was now laying beside the chip bag. Stewart dug into his pocket and pulled out a sliver key with a single shark key chain attached and slowly handed them over to John. John quickly snatched them out of his hand and before leaving for the stairs said “I'm driving.”

I raced up the stairs behind him as Frank helped Stewart up from the floor.
“What do you think your doing John?” I yelled from behind him.

“Dan does it even matter? He's drunk as F and he for sure can't drive. If you want to go, I'm driving, he's not.”

I shrugged and followed him to the car. John jumped into the driver's seat and I went around the car and sat beside him. Frank and Stewart climbed into the back of the car. John turned the key in the ignition and quickly pulled out of the drive way. We began flying down the darkly lit roads. I looked around the car and noticed how fast we were going, as each house quickly became a blur. I looked at the speedometer and saw that we were going well over 90 kilometres/hour. I began to feel a deep pit rising in my stomach.

“JOHN SLOW DOWN!” I yelled over the blaring car radio.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SLOW DOWN DAN. I THOUGHT YOU LIKED THIS.”

“WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT JOHN? THIS ISN'T PART OF THE PLAN!”

“DAN YOU REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A PLAN. ALL YOUR PLAN WAS TO WEAR THESE STUPID ANIMAL MASKS, SO WE COULD SNEAK IN WITHOUT ANYONE KNOWING IT WAS US. WELL LET ME TELL YOU, THAT'S A PRETTY STUPID PLAN.”

“MAN WHY ARE YOU EVEN MAD? YOU SAID THAT YOU LIKED THAT IDEA.”

“WHATEVER.”

“JOHN WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?”

“I'M MAD BECAUSE YOU'RE BEING SELFISH DAN. YOU'RE SELFISH. THE ONLY REASON YOU WANT TO GO TO THIS STUPID PARTY IS BECAUSE YOU'RE A LOSER. YOU'RE A LOSER THAT WANTS TO BE POPULAR. WELL GUESS WHAT, IT'S TOO LATE.”

A sudden ringing exploded into my ears and the car came to sudden halt. I looked around, there was blood everywhere.

John had been too busy yelling at me that he didn't notice the flashing red beacon that hung above us as we flew through, totaling Stewart's car and crushing himself and Stewart to a pulp.
I realize now how selfish I was. John was right, John was always right about me. I was a loser, I am a loser and you know what I have to face the facts, it's the truth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Side note: I realize my story is really quite dramatic, but this was something I found Franco did a lot of in the short stories he included in his novel. I thought I would try to capture the same essence I felt in his, in mine.

Any way, if you did take the time to read my whole story, I would love to hear what you think! Thanks and I hope you enjoyed reading.

Hello again Blogger

Hello, so it's been a busy past few months, as I've just started my first year in college! (woot woot!) I'm studying Graphic Design and so far it's been great. I love my class, got some pretty cool people. Any way, I'm going to try and actually keep up with this blog, as I've been slackin' on it, mostly because of school work. We'll see how it goes.

Pink Lemonade

A few days ago I went HomeSense and found a set of 6 milk bottles. When I  first saw them, I thought they were the cutest little things and I just had to buy them. Ever since I bought them, I have been dying to try them out, so I decided that today I would fill one up with some pink lemonade. I'm thinking that in the near future I will make some strawberry and banana smoothies, so I can drink it out of a cute little milk bottle on a hot summer day (I'm craving one just thinking about it!!) I'm also on the hunt for some cute paper straws like these ones and then my little milk bottles will be complete!

A Day of Thrifting

So many chairs!!
Vinyls...♡

The beautiful and large selection of jars. A D.I.Y dream.

Fell in love with this chair.
(a up-close of the  above chair 's pattern, which I absolutely loved!!)
Love this orange and yellow chair as well. Very 70s.
Some old sewing machines (in their boxes.)

Made a new friend at the shops. This is Louis. Not going to lie, I spent a good amount of time playing with this little fellow.

Yesterday I went on a little adventure to the local thrift shops downtown. I had a peak in each of them and I was able to find some pretty cool items.

The first two items that I got were some really cool old glass jars. They had glass lids with the labels punched into them. I thought they were so pretty, and so bought 2 of them. When I purchased them, I was intending to paint them, tinting them a nice mint green or orange, but I'm starting think other wise. I feel they are far too old to use for a D.I .Y craft. I think for now I'm going to leave them the way they are, as they are far too pretty already and I'm worried I'll ruin them. I think I will just have to make another trip back to the shops and buy a few more jars that I wouldn't mind painting.

The next piece I got was a plan white mug, as I'm planning on drawing on it with sharpies (another D.I.Y craft.) Right now I'm thinking I might draw a cute little lil Bub face on it, as I am sort of obsessed with lil Bub, as I'm sure many others are. She is honestly the cutest little cat. I hope that if I draw her on my mug and can do her cute little face justice.

The last item I picked up was an old photograph of a man with a long suit jacket on, a top hat and cane tucked under his arm. I thought it was such a lovely photo, and although it may seem a little creepy to have this random man's photo, I still had to buy it. I just thought it looked so cool and since I'm super into photography myself, I thought it might not be too creepy. haa. I'm still not really sure what I'll do with it yet, but I'll figure out a way to put it to good use.
